1 hr pregnancy / postnatal  massage £50

The time in life when a women’s body goes through the most miraculous changes can also be uncomfortable, scary and painful. Massage can help, especially if you are suffering from PGP, restless leg syndrome, anxiety of birth or sickness . I specialise in treating women of all trimesters including postnatally, (where you can have your baby alongside you if you wish.)

This treatment allows me to work on the body in a side position, but this can also be adapted to where mother is most comfortable. I also work with the mother preparing towards the birth of her baby, giving advice, breathing techniques, and visualisations. Massage can be a wonderful bonding time for mother and baby to have time out of a busy life to focus and connect with herself and her growing baby.

“If you are looking after yourself, you are also looking after your baby”

Birth, labour, preparation, massage, birth partners

1 hr pre labour consultation & massage £60

This treatment is designed for both mother and birth partner.

This treatment allows the mother the time to be heard, she can voice her preferences and allows the birth partner to be able to practice techniques to support mother during labour, such as pressure points, massaging techniques and positions which are supportive to both mother and birth partner.  There’s nothing worse than seeing a loved one in pain and feeling totally helpless. This 1 hr consultation and practical treatment will help give you both the knowledge, techniques and understanding to best support the birthing mother. I find that after these sessions the mother feels much more confident and secure to go into labour.

Health benefits from massage

Massage helps loosen and relax tight muscles, it also stimulates the body’s natural healing process by:

  • Stimulating circulation; increasing the amount of oxygen and blood to the tissues to aid repair.

  • Waste products: are released from muscles fibres into the lymphatic system freeing blockages.

  • Increasing relaxation, relieving tight muscles from knots to return to their optimum level of rest.

  • Increases the body’s immune system,

  • Release of nerve compression (such as; carpel tunnel, sciatica, tendonitis)

  • Aids greater flexibility

  • Helps Pregnancy related aches and pains. (helps a mother bond with baby, helps PGP (Pelvic Girdle Pain), restless leg syndrome, birth anxiety. “Studies indicate that massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle aches and joint pains, and improve labour outcomes and new-born health”

  • Helps relax, de-stress, slow down, aids pain relief, improves sleep patterns, releases endorphins that induces wellbeing, and treats the whole person; mind, body and spirit.
